Here are the top companies I have worked with, in no particular order.

- Murdoch University
If Executives and Senior Managers took 10% of their working week to lay some good foundations – life would be so much easier for everyone.
When I started my MBA (Master of Business Administration) in 2006 I was convinced that the degree was what I needed to remove limitations and help me to move up the corporate ladder. During the course, I struggled with the reality that an MBA can’t teach all the ins and outs of everyday business life.
“A master’s in business can sometimes block an ability to master experience.”
From my experience as a Board Coordinator and Executive Officer for numerous Australian & UK major companies, I am here to tell you – if Executives and Senior Managers took 10% of their working week to lay some good foundations – life would be so much easier for everyone.
What the MBA or any other degree doesn’t teach you is the basics of how to organise your personal life to optimise your work life.
What works for you is a self-learning process. The experience of someone like me might make the learning shorter, easier, and a lot less painful.
“In more than twenty years, I suspect I have encountered every type of business situation and every type of business personality imaginable.”
I have dealt with the complex egos of superstar executives, witnessed middle management tantrums, diffused aggressive assistants, and consoled abandoned spouses. I have dealt with heads of major corporations, international bankers, mum & dad investors, local and federal governing bodies and empire builders in times of crisis.
I have encountered many phases and facets of sporting, hospitality, finance, oil and gas and educational industries.
“What I haven’t experienced myself I have observed.”
I have been inside and outside countless board rooms where I have witnessed a lot of good and bad behaviours. I have seen many different corporate styles, cultures and philosophies put into practice – and noted why a lot of them never work.
“To be successful in business you need simple foundations that work for you. “
Based on my own experiences and observations I have collated several tools which can be directly applied with immediate and tangible results.
(BTW – I never did finish the MBA, life was too important for a piece of paper.)
